Acupuncture in the later years
According to Chinese theory, the problems associated with ageing are due to a Qi and Blood deficiency, which decrease as we grow older. This makes us more prone to lung problems, feeling cold, poor hearing and ringing in the ears (tinnitus), frequent urination, retention of urine, or incontinence. High blood pressure is common among older people.
Many older people suffer from joint problems due to osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. These joint pains can develop from an old injury incurred long ago. Causes include stress and narrowing of the arteries. The condition is made worse by obesity, smoking, excess alcohol, and a sedentary lifestyle.
Regular acupuncture can replace the need for painkillers or anti-inflammatories.
The ageing process cannot be stopped, but with Acupuncture, you can feel good, experience having more energy and be reasonably pain free even in you late eighties.
